## GOM Overcomes Slow Start to Clinch Decisive Victory In an electric matchup at the Cross Court in Shah Alam this Saturday, GOM overcame an initial deficit to secure a convincing 88-72 win against The Challenger during the CBLx 2026 tournament. While the visitors narrowly edged out the first quarter 23-22, GOM’s tactical adjustments proved to be the turning point, as they took control of the momentum in the second period and never looked back. ## Triple Threat Offensive Performance The victory was characterized by an incredible display of offensive synergy, with three GOM players—Edmund Augustin, Teoh Teck Seong, and Guganeswaran Batumalai—all finishing the night with a team-high 20 points apiece. Batumalai was particularly influential, orchestrating the offense with 6 assists to go along with his scoring output. The Challenger fought valiantly, led by Phang Jeng Kitt’s 20 points and Shawn Heng’s 14, but they struggled to contain the multi-pronged attack that GOM unleashed throughout the second half. ## Dominating the Closing Quarters After trailing early, GOM tightened their defensive rotations and found a rhythm on the perimeter. Outscoring The Challenger by five points in both the third and fourth quarters, GOM systematically expanded their lead, eventually closing the game out with a comfortable 16-point margin. This win marks a significant statement for GOM in the CBLx 2026 campaign, highlighting their depth and ability to respond to pressure when the game is on the line. For The Challenger, the focus will now shift to regrouping for their next fixture after a tough night in Shah Alam.
